Now available for endurance industry timers
Sept 23, 2022 – Moorestown, NJ /Endurance SPORTSWIRE/ – RunSignup, the leading provider of registration for US endurance events, has announced the RaceDay Mobile Timing app for timing of smaller events and backup for timed events. With the convenient use of Android and Apple phones and tablets, timers can use the free RaceDay Mobile Timing app to record finish times and order finishes through the app. The app works in conjunction with the RunSignup results platform to publish results in real time. This is ideal for timing smaller endurance events such as ultra-distance, track and field, cross-country, running or cycling events, and water events. In addition, the RaceDay Mobile app is a valuable backup solution – similar to Time Machines – for larger events and for checking out the best finishers.

The RaceDay Mobile Timing app started as a project completed by Rowan University and has since been transformed by RunSignup’s RaceDay developer team into a product now available for timers to be used across the country.
With the app’s Chute and Finish Line logging options, timers can log the order of finishes based on the bib number and log finish timestamps. Timers can integrate with RunSigup results to get recorded results displayed in real time on the event webpage. By making use of RunSignup Results Timers, results sections can be set up so that the application can quickly and easily produce results complete with features such as the age group location of all participants. The RaceDay Mobile Timing app supports offline situations where finish times can be recorded locally on the app and then uploaded and combined with the live race once internet connections are re-established. This is especially useful for remote events such as ultra-high speed courses and the course.
Additionally, timers can use Backup Timer mode in situations where the app is used as a backup timing tool — similar to the Time Machine approach — along with official timing equipment and logging software like RaceDay Scoring. Using this mode records in-app data on the timer backend without making the data public. In addition to a phone or tablet keyboard, the app can be used in conjunction with Bluetooth touch keyboards, such as the Sunreed Bluetooth Numpad with LCD screen, for more efficient bib input.
The application also supports the easy export of results data (names and hour/net times) and timing data (raw time of day and bib numbers). The exports can then be used in conjunction with logging software such as RaceDay Scoring as a backup timing solution. With RaceDay Scoring there is a predefined file stream type compatible with the Mobile Timing application (PC Timing File – Mobile Timing) which you can use to import the times from the timing data export file.
